Welcome to partywithaplot.com. These Terms govern your use of the website and purchases of downloadable games sold by Party with a Plot ("we", "us"). Please read them before purchasing. You may contact us at support@partywithaplot.com.
1. What we sell
We sell downloadable, fictional party experiences. A product page explains the game’s intended player count, approximate play time, themes, file types and what is included. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no physical item is shipped. Products may include PDF files, written scripts, instructions, printable materials or other digital files, as described on the particular product page. Purchases do not include equipment, printing, mobile data or special props.
We make reasonable efforts to describe every product accurately. Please check the product page for the edition you are buying. Product features that are not expressly listed are not included. In particular, live calls, hosted multiplayer features or conversational AI access are not promised unless specifically described as included and tested for the edition sold.
2. Orders and payment
Prices appear in the currency displayed at checkout. Any applicable tax and final charge will be presented before you pay. Payments and digital delivery may be handled by Payhip and the payment provider offered at checkout. An order is confirmed after successful payment and fulfillment through the provider.
If you experience duplicate charges or do not receive access, contact support@partywithaplot.com with the transaction reference. Please do not send your full payment-card number.
3. Personal-use licence
When you buy a game, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to download and use that edition for private, noncommercial party play. You may print materials for yourself and provide assigned character/participant pages to members of your private group for the purpose of playing that game. You may also keep a personal backup copy.
You may not resell, sublicense, upload the complete game to a public site, distribute the entire package outside your group, publish or sell modified copies, or use our materials as part of a paid commercial event without prior written permission. For group participation, share only the materials each participant needs and avoid distributing spoiler-filled host/creator content.
This licence concerns the protectable materials and contractual access rights we are legally able to grant. No clause claims copyright protection over material that does not qualify for it. All rights not expressly granted are reserved where applicable.
4. Games are fictional experiences
Our stories, characters, transmissions and situations are fictional. The Return Signal includes science-fiction and psychological-horror themes, including fictional death, identity uncertainty, confinement, fear and betrayal. Read the game’s specific content warnings and choose an experience appropriate for your group. Do not use physical restraint, dangerous props, real weapons or unsafe conduct as part of play. Participants may stop or pause the activity.
5. Downloads and compatibility
You are responsible for access to a suitable device, software capable of opening the stated formats, and any optional speakers or printer identified on the product page. Please retain a backup of purchased files. If downloads are broken or inaccessible, contact support so we can resolve the problem. We may make corrections or updates to files but are not promising perpetual access to a particular external hosting service unless explicitly stated.
6. Refunds and legal rights
Our Digital Delivery & Refund Policy (linked from the product page and checkout) explains how to request help or a refund. Digital purchases are generally not refundable for a change of mind after access has been provided, except where law requires otherwise or we decide to make an exception. This does not exclude rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited, including remedies for materially misdescribed, defective or undelivered products.
7. Acceptable website use
Do not attempt to disrupt our website, bypass access controls, impersonate another customer, misuse checkout or download systems, or copy and publish protected site content beyond applicable lawful exceptions.
8. Intellectual property and AI-assisted material
“Party with a Plot” and “The Return Signal” are used as brand and product identifiers. Their appearance here does not state that trademarks have been registered. Text, design, graphics and recordings may contain copyright-protected human-authored elements and AI-assisted outputs; the extent of legal protection depends on applicable law and the actual contribution to each element. Third-party names and services remain their respective owners’ property.
9. Service changes and liability
We aim to keep product descriptions, links and files accurate, but short outages or technical problems may occur. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable losses from optional personal use of the website. Nothing here removes mandatory consumer rights or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful. Contact us first so we can attempt a practical resolution.
10. Governing law
These Terms are interpreted under the laws applicable in Ontario, Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your own jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded.
